KHTS: SCVi/iLEAD Teacher Gets Creative With Distance Learning, Uses Home Cooking To Teach

“A Spanish teacher from SCVi/iLEAD got creative with distance learning recently, using live video of herself cooking to teach her students while school closures remain in effect during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Facilitator Erika Cedeno invited her learners to come together virtually in their homes while she demonstrated how to cook the Mexican dish Chilaquiles virtually from her own kitchen, according to an article by the California Charter Schools Association (CCSA). 

“Before the virtual meeting, Cedeno sent parents an ingredient list so the learners could make the recipe themselves following the demonstration, and invited families to join their kids for the project as well.”
