IB News

Reminder that IB exam payments are due for all senior learners who are testing. If you haven’t already made this payment, please ensure that the check or bank transfer is made by Wednesday. Checks should be made payable to Santa Clarita Valley International School and given to our business manager, Donna Wood (donna.wood@scvi-k12.org). Once the payment has been processed, we’ll be able to register your learner on the International Baccalaureate Information System (IBIS).

The IB learner profile describes a broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success. They imply a commitment to help all members of the school community learn to respect themselves, others, and the world around them. One of the qualities the profile develops is reflection. At this point in the semester, all the facilitators have been asking learners to reflect on what they’ve learned, how they learn, how they can use this, and what more they need to succeed in each IB course. You could ask your child how they’ve used reflection in their learning this week.

Our next parent committee meeting is on Wednesday,  November 20, at 9:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of the age of your learner. There will not be an evening meeting on the November 20, but we’re looking at alternative dates that could work. Please let us know if an evening meeting would suit you better.
