Message from the Leadership Team

Hello SCVi Families and Friends,

Spring is an exciting time in our upper school. Our seniors are plowing through doorways to find someone to share their most recent college acceptances with. Our college counselor, Kris Nilsen, has worked tirelessly to engage and educate our upper school learners about the pathway to college. To date, most of our seniors have been accepted to the higher learning communities of their choice.

We are educating a group of learners for whom the future job market has yet to be revealed. As a result, we have taken a hard look at what soft skills will be needed to succeed in any job market. In summary, we’ve infused into their core curriculum more critical thinking and reasoning skills, collaboration, grit, problem solving, oratory skills, social and emotional navigation tools and hands-on/project-based education.

Kris Nilsen is available on Thursday afternoons from 5 to 6 p.m. to answer questions from families with learners in any grade. You can email Kris at kris.nilsen@scvi-k12.org
