Message from the Leadership Team

Hello SCVi Families and Friends,

Our learners are in the depths of authentic service learning, with their attention directed to identifying how their applied skills translate into a prospective career path. Our learners are digital natives, meaning the world is a much richer and bigger place than generations before. They have the ability to virtually visit anywhere in the world and now they have the power to change it with greater access and understanding.

At iLEAD Schools, we believe that student altruism shouldn’t be postponed until they graduate — it’s happening now. For example, our 4th/5th graders are working with famed tiny house builder, Elvis Summers. Elvis is working with our learners to build a tiny house to be donated to a homeless veteran.

As educators we support the altruistic process by partnering learners who have varied skill sets, giving guided freedom to create, teaching creative problem solving and, perhaps most importantly, helping learners navigate effective communication skills. We have been fortunate to see the talent pour from our learners and we will be a better world because of it.

Enjoy your week,

Lisa Latimer, Kimberly Matthes, Elsa Williamson, Nicole Padovich and Malaka Donovan
