Message from the Directors

Dear Families,

As moms of established 20-somethings and early elementary students, we appreciate the reward and challenge of parenting, especially when it comes to watching our kids navigate the maze of childhood. In October, we will continue to share thoughts and resources which fortify the importance of growing the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills of our learners.

What can we do as parents and facilitators to develop stronger skills to continue crafting authentic, caring connections with our learners, all the while helping them recognize the natural +/- consequences of their actions?

At SCVi, our philosophy is built around relationships with all of our learners. We continue to develop our philosophy of Love and Logic, offering our learners the ability to make decisions and affordable mistakes, and experience the natural/logical consequences. During this process, it is the facilitator/parent who supports by enforcing limits with compassion and empathy.

For more information on Love and Logic, we’ve included a link with some great L&L parenting articles.

We hope you have a fantastic week!
