Dear learners and families,
Welcome back! First and foremost, we hope this message finds you safe and healthy and that you’ve been able to rest, decompress, and acclimate to our “new normal” of staying safe at home over Spring Break. Although we’re still waiting for the all-clear, it is relieving to know our collective efforts are proving effective to flatten, or at least “stretch,” the curve in California, as Governor Newsom explained last week.
As we get back into the rhythm of school this week, knowing we will be in our distance learning program for the remainder of this school year, we encourage you to create a schedule for your family if you have not yet done so. At school, we know implementing daily routines provides structure for facilitators and learners, helping us feel centered and productive. We encourage you to keep your child’s regular sleep schedule so they’re able to wake up refreshed each morning.
With that said, this is all still very new and different from what any of us have ever experienced in our lives. Let’s give ourselves the space to make sense of it together.
In the meantime, our facilitators can’t wait to welcome all our learners back into their various virtual learning spaces to hear about the activities, games, and traditions you’ve enjoyed during this time together at home.
In closing, we know many of you are essential workers, and we honor you for your unwavering dedication to provide our community with necessities, safety, and health care. Thank you for everything you do!
With gratitude,
The SCVi Leadership Team
