Dear SCVi Families,
We’re looking forward to a great month of March ahead.
Women’s History Month is a monthlong celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture, and society. The observance began as a weeklong celebration in 1978 organized by the school district of Sonoma, California. Dozens of schools and hundreds of students participated, and a parade was held in downtown Santa Rosa. The celebration continued to grow, and in 1980, President Jimmy Carter issued the first presidential proclamation of National Women’s History Week. Six years later, the National Women’s History Project successfully petitioned Congress to expand the observance to the entire month of March. We look forward to seeing you and your family this week!
