2025 School Year Begins Soon! Key Dates and Information

Dear SCVi Families,
We hope that you have been enjoying the summer and have made many happy memories. We are looking forward to having all of our returning and new learners on campus at SCVi (28060 Hasley Canyon Rd, #200, Castaic, CA) on Tuesday, August 12, for the first day of school! Below are a few important dates to mark on your calendar. As always, we are here to support you and your child, so please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Important Dates to Remember
Upper School Orientation for 8th-12th Graders: Thursday, August 7, at 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Incoming 8th-12th graders, please join us on SCVi’s campus for our Upper School Orientation! Meet your cool facilitators (teachers), get your student ID, see your friends and meet new ones, and ask questions! See you then!
TK-7 Meet the Facilitator Night: Monday, August 11, at 5:30 to 7:00
Families of incoming TK-7th graders, we hope you’ll join us for our Meet the Facilitator Night at SCVi! This is your chance to explore SCVi’s campus, see your child’s classroom space, and meet your child’s facilitator for the year! You’ll also be able to gather your child’s classroom wish list, school supply list, and more. We hope you can join us!
First Day of School: Tuesday, August 12
School doors will open up at 8:10 AM, with school beginning at 8:30 AM. We encourage you to take advantage of our valet system, the fastest and safest way for your children to start their school day. Morning valet is curbside at the front of the Lower School, and afternoon valet is located off of Industry Drive. Drop-off begins at 8:10 AM.
School Closed for Labor Day: Monday, September 1
Minimum Day and Back to School Night: Thursday, September 4
Please mark your calendar for a minimum day on Thursday September 4. On minimum days, learners are released at the same time as they are released on Fridays (12:30 PM).
That evening, please plan to join at 5:30 to 7:00 for Back to School Night. This event will help you know what to expect throughout the year, what project-based learning looks like in the classroom, the various types of assessments we use, school culture, and much more. It is a very informative evening where valuable information will be given. We look forward to seeing you there!

ParentSquare
Please make sure that you have activated your ParentSquare account. Important reminders and information regarding school emergencies and events will be relayed through this system. ParentSquare emails home and will also send notifications to your phone if you download the app: http://parentsquare.com/
Monday Message, Weekly Updates and School Website
The Monday Message is sent out each week to all of our families. It includes articles, upcoming events, pictures of learners, updates, and other pertinent information regarding school activities.
Weekly updates are sent out to you from your child’s facilitator and contain very important information regarding classroom instruction and other imperative information.

Social Media
