SCVi Celebrates Black History Month
Dr. Carter G Woodson, the second African American to receive a PhD from Harvard University, is the “Father of Black History” and developer of Black History Month. Dr. Woodson believed it was essential for young African Americans to understand and be proud of their heritage.
SCVi shares this belief, and we strive in our classrooms and on campus to celebrate the accomplishments and incorporate Black History into our projects, discussions, and coursework, not only during this month but as an integrated aspect of our yearlong curriculum.
