SCVi Charter School Launches Aerospace Career Pathway with Expert Advisory Council
Santa Clarita Valley International (SCVi) Charter School recently launched a new Aerospace Career-Connected Learning Pathway, thanks to a K-12 Strong Workforce Program grant. To guide the program’s development and ensure its success, SCVi has assembled an Advisory Council of aerospace industry experts. The council’s inaugural meeting took place on October 9. Members enjoyed lunch courtesy of Wolf Creek Restaurant & Brewing Co. while discussing how to best prepare SCVi learners for careers related to aviation and aerospace.
The council is comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise in the aerospace field and includes Al Bowers, NASA Armstrong retired; Andrew Fischer, NASA Armstrong; Troy Wollman, Virgin Galactic; Harriet Happel, College of the Canyons; and Yee Chan, SCVi parent and eBay, White Space Engineering. These professionals provide valuable insights and guidance to ensure SCVi’s Aerospace Pathway aligns with industry expectations and provides learners with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in the aerospace industry.
We deeply value the knowledge, experience, and commitment of these individuals. Their esteemed voices will be instrumental in shaping a program that will propel SCVi learners into rewarding college and career journeys.
