Staff Spotlight: Ramon Hamilton

Ramon Hamilton, Upper School IB Film Facilitator and Design Tech Coordinator, has a long history with SCVi going back to the year we opened our doors. Both a professional filmmaker and mentor to young up-and-coming filmmakers, Ramon’s company, Think Ten Media Group, provided after-school enrichment opportunities from SCVi’s first year.

In 2012, Ramon moved into the classroom as a design tech facilitator. In 2013, he took on facilitating the Upper School Design Tech program, coordinating and recruiting highly qualified professionals to work with our teens, based on what our learners want to explore.

Ramon has also handled video production for SCVi and iLEAD from the beginning. This year, we are so pleased to have him working for SCVi FULL TIME! He continues all the work previously listed but adds to his schedule facilitating IB Film, Film 1, and Film 2, as well as a new design tech class called “New Media”.

His entire family is committed to both the development of SCVi and iLEAD, as well as the growth of the arts and film in Santa Clarita. He and his wife, Jennifer, founded their film and media education company Think Ten Media Group together. Jennifer has provided music instruction and summer piano camps at SCVi through the years. Their two sons attend SCVi as well. And if that weren’t enough, Ramon is coaching SCVi’s first Upper School flag football team.

Outside of school, in 2005, Jennifer and Ramon founded the SCV Film Festival, which they ran for 7 years, only ending when the success of Think Ten Media Group grew so large they could not manage both. Currently Think Ten’s award-winning film, “Rachel’s Pitch”, is successfully touring the film festival circuit. Much of “Rachel’s Pitch,” made in collaboration with Make a Wish South Carolina, used our very own SCVi campus as its backdrop. You can learn more about Think Ten Media Group here.
