Developing Leaders through Project-Based Learning at SCVi

Every child is a leader. That’s what we know at SCVi. One of the essential educational methods we incorporate to encourage our young leaders to grow is project-based learning (PBL).

With PBL, learning is dynamic, engaging, and connected to the real world. Our kids — inspired learners — not only develop skills in reading, writing, math, social studies, and science, but they also apply the power of research, critical thinking, and collaboration to real-world challenges. From science experiments to community service initiatives, their projects make a real impact. Meanwhile, our highly skilled educators — inspiring facilitators of learning — provide a supportive, enriching environment where kids have access to the resources they need to learn, grow, and lead.

At the conclusion of a project, our kids demonstrate their learning and present their projects to their families and the community, reinforcing the skills they’ve learned and further developing the leader within.

We are honored to support our young leaders on their path to lifelong learning.

At SCVi, we know education is not just about academics; it’s about preparing students for life. And to be ready for life, kids need skills like empathy, self-awareness, and effective communication. In other words, they need social-emotional learning (SEL).

SEL is not just a buzzword for us—it’s been a cornerstone of our curriculum since day one. Our educators are trained not only to facilitate but to model SEL, creating a supportive environment where kids feel valued and understood. This approach not only enhances academic performance but also fosters a community where everyone thrives.

By integrating SEL into every aspect of our educational approach, we ensure that our learners are prepared to navigate the complexities of life, build positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

Experience the difference at SCVi, where learners become well-rounded leaders who are prepared for success in college, career, and life.
