SCVi, iLEAD's Founding School

Monday Message – May 18, 2020

Dear Learners and Families,

“We want to applaud our children. These little heroes have stayed indoors more than ever. Their whole worlds have been turned upside down, and they don’t understand why. All these rules they’ve never known. Not being able to see family or give hugs. Vacations, sports and activities, play dates and school canceled. Our children’s minds must be racing. Every day their resilient little bodies get up and carry on despite all that’s going on. So here’s to our little heroes: today, tomorrow, forever.”

As we enter our ninth week of virtual learning, we want to honor our learners. During this time of crisis, our learners have shown strength, resilience and, above all, courage. More than anything, we are feeling a tremendous loss. A loss of hearing our learners’ laughter, listening to their worries, and greeting them with a hug. We are certain that our learners are feeling the same impact, if not more. Some of our learners have been able to stay engaged, get up every day and complete assignments. But others have struggled to keep up.  Whatever the case may be, let’s keep in mind we are persevering through the first pandemic of our lifetime. As adults, we want to advise and guide but can only support. We find solace in knowing that this moment is only temporary. We know one day we’ll be together again, even if we don’t know exactly when. What we do know, with absolute certainty, is that there is a long list of things, people, and experiences we will be grateful for. Thank you for continuing to support SCVi and contributing to our community. Please read this message to your children and let them know they are missed and loved by every staff member in our building.
