Welcome back! I hope you had some time to “sharpen the saw” and relax and unwind this past week. We, as a staff took the time to have schoolwide professional development and are excited to be back.
As we jump back into projects and school activities we can remind our learners of Stephen Covey’s Habit 3: Put First Things First.
“Put First Things First” means to decide what is most important and to take care of that first. Thinking about what needs to be done tomorrow or by the end of the week can be overwhelming, especially for children.
A planner is a great tool for any age, by writing down their responsibilities and planning ahead. If your child does not use a planner, then a simple checklist could work. This could simply be a piece of paper that is used each week.
A great conversation starter is to ask your child what they think their biggest distraction is, and brainstorming ways to Put First things First, and still have time for “distractions.”
Monday is Donuts with Directors! Hope to see you there.
Make it a great week!
Warm Regards,
Nicole Padovich, Director of Operations and School Culture
