Dear Parents,
We had a full and engaging week of field studies. A big thank you to all our chaperones who volunteered last week, and to the ones signed up for this week. It is greatly appreciated!
ILP meetings are now complete. Please check in with your child periodically to see how they are progressing. Reach out to your child’s facilitator if you have any questions or concerns regarding their progress. We count on you for your input and we value you as part of our school family.
By far, the most important parent involvement happens at home. The family and school connection is an important part of helping your child stay engaged in the learning process. A strong home/school connection will set the stage for a child who will grow up with a love for learning.
Here are some conversation starters to help get your child talking about school. Instead of asking “How was your day” you could try:
1. What made you smile today?
2. Can you tell me an example of kindness you saw or showed today?
3. Tell me something you know today that you didn’t know yesterday.
4. How were you brave today?
And my favorite…
5. If you switched places with your facilitator tomorrow, what would you want your friends to learn about?
Thank you for your continued support and make it a great week!
