6th Graders Headed to California Science Center

Concept of creating ideas and achievement symbol of aspiration success as two hands holding a group of connected gears shaped as a human head and an open lightbulb as an icon of imagination and innovation.

6th Grade Field Trip
Thursday, April 12
Field Trip Permission Slips were due Friday, April 6

On April 12, our 6th-grade class will be taking a field trip to the California Science Center! At the Science Center, we have the unique experience in participating in the Roller Coaster Engineering Lab. In the rollercoaster lab, learners will explore gravity and energy by engineering a roller coaster on the Big Lab’s Giant Wall. Through experimentation, learners will find that keeping some variables constant while changing others will be the key to keeping their material from flying off the track!

We will have the class split into different groups experiencing the roller coaster lab at different times. While one group is experimenting, the other group will be walking around the California Science Center with their group leaders.

This field trip will be $30 per learner due to the lab and transportation costs. We will be needing about seven chaperones (free entry) and permission slips and payments need to be in by April 6 so we can pay our deposit. If we do not get enough payments turned in on time, we will need to cancel the field trip.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if you’re able to help chaperone! This is going to be so fun!  Link to Field Trip Permission Slip due Friday, April 6.
