We are encouraging our upper school learners (incoming freshmen-juniors) to read two books over the summer. Reading is a skill that, when practiced, provides many benefits. Reading helps one:
- Become a better communicator and writer
- Better understand and relate to others emotionally
- Improve focus and concentration
- Build on vocabulary and memory
- Helps prevent the summer slide in comprehension skills
While summer is for reading books you enjoy, we have also included a list for learners who intend to enroll in IB Classes or are currently in IB Classes. That list and reading agreement are located on the second page of this handout. Pre-IB/IB candidates, please turn in your agreement to your current English facilitator by June 1.
