Our Cafe at SCVi was created by parents who wanted healthful, affordable option for our learners for lunch and snack as well as creating a place where the learners felt as comfortable as they would at home.
Our kitchen is nut-free. We offer vegetarian and gluten-free options daily; learners are encouraged to speak with any of the cafe staff regarding their special dietary needs when they visit the café for their morning break or before school starts. Often, the hot item is made to accommodate vegetarians and students who require gluten-free options (veggie meatballs, tofu etc.)
The CAFE is open Monday thru Friday and offers two options for lunch at a low price of $4 per person. The cafe also offers a “Meal Plan,” which takes off an additional 10 percent when one purchases lunches in bulk (4 options available; see cashier for options on Aug. 21 or 22.) As a bonus, with the purchase of a “Meal Plan” your learner will not have to stand in the cashier’s line; they will get a front-of-the-line pass, saving time.
There are two options for lunch. First, a hot lunch, which includes a tender and juicy protein, homemade side, farm-fresh vegetables and an all-you-can-eat salad bar with beautifully cut fruits and vegetables. Second, we have a sandwich bar where a learner can choose from an assortment of breads, meats and cheeses then top each off with an assortment of self-serve toppings.
We can offer special dietary lunches upon request with a day’s notice. A menu can be found on our website. Please note: we do make changes periodically due to factors beyond our control.
Please feel free to phone Chef Eileen Wright with any questions or concerns you may have.
Parents are welcome to join their learners at the cafe for lunch any day!
