IB News: Parent Info Meeting is April 2

Coming up Tuesday, April 2 is our IB information morning for parents. We will be sharing information about the IB program and about how we implement its requirements at SCVi. I intend for the presentation to be as practical and informative as possible, and afterwards there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions to the Upper School Team. The meeting will be available online via Zoom. Click here to join online, and used meeting ID 806 846 512 if prompted. I look forward to seeing you in the Village at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2.

Our IB lesson focus in school this week has been on the core subject ‘Theory of Knowledge’ (TOK) which aims to enable learners to understand how we know what we know. The course looks at elements of philosophy and teaches learners to notice the way that they learn, judge and make decisions in real life. IB subject facilitators have been looking at ways to implement this subject into the curriculum so that in addition to becoming more knowledgeable in their subject, learners are also becoming more knowledgeable about their own cognitive processes. To learn more about TOK, ask your IB learner or come to our information morning next Tuesday.
