IB News

We have had a successful first two weeks, and the junior and senior IB learners are continuing to be impressive. I think that one of the most valuable skills that the IB teaches is that of resilience. Learners who stick with the program will find themselves challenged and then strengthened. When I speak to college students who took the IB diploma, they say that it helped them learn, grow, and develop perseverance. This tenaciousness has been evident in all of our IB learners over the past two weeks. They have been embracing new content and engaging fully in the challenges that facilitators have presented them with.

Thanks to all of you who participated in the IB survey. We really appreciate the feedback that you gave us. One issue that has come up is that the community does not feel that enough information is available early on in their learner’s academic journey. With this in mind, I will be available at Back to School Night on September 4th to talk about the benefits of the IB program and to answer any questions. I will mostly be with the 8th grade team during their presentations but will also be in the Upper School from 7-7:30 p.m. I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and to begin supporting you on your learner’s academic growth.

Thank you!
