Message from the Directors

Dear Families,

On Monday, October 31, at 10 a.m., we will be hosting our annual TK-5 costume parade. While our parade is highly anticipated by our learners and everyone enjoys it, we also value it for other aspects that we hold dear at SCVi.

Learners from transitional kindergarten through 12th grade are welcomed to come to school in costume. By including every grade, we continue to foster the feeling that our school is one united community despite the separation in buildings. Grade level, administration, Student Support, and CARE team surprise learners by dressing up in themed costumes. In doing this, the staff share in the experience with the learners and further relationship building. Sometimes in those moments, we connect with the children who need it the most.

Before the TK-5th grade learners walk the parade route, we gather all of the 6-12 learners. This is where the beautiful part comes to play! We do not ask our older learners to do anything but watch the younger ones walk through. However, they all clap, cheer and encourage our little ones. In that moment, all of our learners are connected. Our high school learners still talk about how much they loved walking the parade when they were younger. We do this to create connection and a powerful sense of community.

We hope to see you there!
