Background and 2018 Recap

This year’s inaugural Cultural Bridges relief trip was a life-changing experience for the iLEAD learners and chaperones who ventured to Puerto Rico to bring aid to the hurricane-ravaged island. You can learn more about this amazing humanitarian mission on the 2018 Backpacks Full of Hope blog:

We accomplished a great deal, but much work remains to be done. Puerto Rico still faces many challenges ranging from housing to infrastructure restoration, to revegetation of the island’s natural areas.

For our second relief trip, we have decided to return to Puerto Rico. The April 11-19, 2019, trip will once again be open to learners in grades 8 and up — and younger learners can also participate if accompanied by a parent. We encourage you to sign up early for this trip so you can participate in fundraising over the summer.

Please note:  International Baccalaureate DP Diploma candidates can earn CAS (Creativity, Action and Service) hours on this trip.
