Message from the Leadership Team

Dear SCVi Families,

We want to thank you for your amazing support during last Thursday’s school lockdown and the days that followed. As you know, our staff, from the directors to iLEAD Schools executives, from office personnel to the cafe, everyone who was at school on Thursday, was an important part of helping our learners feel safe and supported. The learners are why we love coming to work every day, and as much as every one of us hopes we will never ever have to experience a lockdown situation again, we’ll never forget the way everyone — staff, learners, parents, and law enforcement — collaborated to keep our No. 1 priority safe and feeling supported.

Some of you have let us know you did not receive the text or email notifications with updates throughout the day. While we have made great improvements in emergency communication since the Thomas Fire, we saw some areas we can still continue to refine. Ensuring emergency communication with our families is one of our top priorities. Please be on the lookout for an email coming home this week, with the details of how you can partner with us to fill in any gaps that may still exist.

This week we will continue to offer additional support to our learners, our staff and to you as parents. Please do not hesitate to contact us at leadership@scvi-k12.org.

For any who may have missed it on Thursday afternoon, the letter sent home to families outlining the day of the lockdown can be found at this link.

And, we sent a followup note to families on Sunday afternoon (today) and that message can be viewed at this link.
