School Safety Update

SCVi learner and facilitator

Hello SCVi Families,

Over the last few weeks, our facilitators and support staff have been working diligently to prepare for the arrival of your children. We would like to take a moment to recognize that it was through the efforts of our entire SCVi family that allowed us to overcome the significant challenges that we faced last year. Recently Governor Newsom announced that all school employees will be required to show proof of vaccination or undergo weekly testing. The purpose stated is to keep facilitators and learners safely together in classrooms and on campus.

We are taking the appropriate time to clearly understand the mandate in order to create a plan for implementation. The State requires this plan to be in place by October 15th. More information will follow. The following safety measures are currently in place and will continue to be implemented this Fall:

  • Our school wide ventilation system has been updated
  • Air filtration units are located in all indoor spaces
  • Universal masking required throughout all indoor spaces
  • Frequent cleaning/sanitation of touch points throughout the day
  • Health questionnaire on Parent Square to be completed each day and checked daily to allow entry to school
  • Lower and Middle school drop-off time to begin at 8:15 am
  • If you need before school care, please contact Little iLeaders iCreate

Should a student test positive for COVID-19, the following will occur:

  • Contact tracing
  • If a student tests positive – isolation for 10 days
  • Vaccinated, asymptomatic close contacts can continue to attend school
  • Unvaccinated, asymptomatic close contacts must quarantine for 10 days
