SCVi Mission Launch on Saturday!

On Thursday, June 1, our SCVi learners Dustin Fields, Alec Lewis and Kai Turner’s experiment was scheduled to launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Space X for transport to the International Space Station. Two of the team together with Matt Watson and Kathleen Fredette went to Florida for this momentous event.

While there the teens presented their experiment, “The Effects of Microgravity on Oxidation,” to visitors and scientists from all over the world at the Kennedy Space Center. They toured the facility and were able to get hands-on with real NASA equipment.

While we were disappointed that the launch was scrubbed due to poor weather, as of publish date the mission had been rescheduled for Saturday, June 3. Our fingers are crossed that you will be able to check our facebook page Sunday to watch video of the launch.
