Message from the Directors

Dear Families,

As we approach the holiday season and begin to close the second quarter, we are encouraged to be reflective, yet live in the moment. Our learners are also asked to consider the growth they’ve experienced, as well as their plans for the coming semester. By this point in the year, grit has been developing and our learners are working toward more complex problem solving, social and emotional growth and a heightened sense of overall responsibility.

Just when the kids’ top is in full spin…winter break comes. As parents, what can we do to keep our elementary-high school learners engaged during the three-week reprieve to avoid a momentum slowdown? The good news is, there are endless free options! For example, encourage your learner to help in the kitchen during holiday meal prep and baking, which promotes: social and emotional connections, math and measurement, reading and communication, sensory exploration, in addition to incorporating the science of cooking. Most importantly, you’re making memories!

We invite you to take a look at the link for more ideas on how to keep the kids engaged during long periods outside of school.

Have an amazing week!
