I tutor within a 30 minute radius of Torrance, California. Most of my tutoring time is supporting children with their math studies. I enjoy making math skills clear with cartoon sketches, and real-world stories that illustrate how the concept is used in life. I also support children in reading, most importantly in reading comprehension, by reading books appropriate to the child's level and interests and discussing what they read. I've played piano for more than 50 years and enjoy teaching children how to play, first by ear along with singing songs they know, and then teaching them how to read music. After 30 years of teaching in traditional classrooms, I enjoy tutoring!<p>
