Our 1st and 2nd graders’ current project-based learning (PBL) initiative centers around this driving question: “What would my journey look like if I started as a seed?” To explore this question, our learners recently experienced an amazing field study at Underwood Family Farms! They engaged in an informative session about seeds, plants, fruits, and vegetables, followed by an exciting tractor ride to the vegetable fields. They learned how to carefully select and identify the vegetables they picked. Our adventure continued with visits to the farm animals, bouncing in bounce houses, sliding down tracker slides, navigating tricycles through mazes, and exploring wooden trains.

Our learners will continue to dive into their learning, with a culminating project of a Classroom Farmers Market at their Presentation of Learning on December 8!

Ambassadors (Student Leadership)

…attending after-school meetings, planning school events, and representing the school in the community. Ambassadors also help in planning committees and assist with SCVi’s charitable activities, fund-raising, arts festivals, and school…

SCVi learnersWe couldn’t be prouder of the incredible group of learners in grades 6-12 who comprise our SCVi Ambassadors program. This multiage group is our primary student-to-student outreach panel, and on school tour days, our ambassadors are front and center! They give our visitors a valuable perspective of what makes SCVi unique, and they field questions like professionals.

Being an ambassador is a great opportunity for learners to gain skills in leadership, public speaking, and planning. Ambassadors are always ready for any challenge or task thrown their way.

Ambassador responsibilities include attending after-school meetings, planning school events, and representing the school in the community. Ambassadors also help in planning committees and assist with SCVi’s charitable activities, fund-raising, arts festivals, and school dances.

We’re always looking for more participants: the more learners who want to be involved, the better! Requirements and expectations for participation include passing all classes and attending all meetings. To be an ambassador, request an application from the front desk or registrar.

Contact us to schedule a tour and experience the SCVi difference for yourself.
